Monday, May 19th

Alright, Public Theologians. It is your job to make sure the weather is nice enough for us to be able to sit on the patio this week!

That being the case, let’s gather at 5:30 at the Tap House, shoot for the patio if the weather is favorable, and discuss this week’s topic: Heresy.

If you get the chance beforehand, read through Tylor Standley‘s recent blog post over at andygill.org, and ponder these questions to get our discussion going:

  1. Is the concept of “heresy” still applicable to today’s world, in North America in 2014?
  2. Did any of Tylor’s inclusions surprise you? Why or why not?
  3. How do Lutherans in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA) stream of faith identify with the label “Evangelical”?
  4. How might we actually embrace and learn from people we disagree with?

I’ll bring a few printouts of the article, too, if you need to reference it as we go along. See you there.
